HENNIE'S ADVENTURES is a small tour operator based in South Africa and in the Netherlands. Its core business is two-fold:
- the planning and operating of custom designed tours for private clients and foreign independent travellers (FIT's) through-out South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and as far as the Victoria Falls in Zambia;
- offering specialized educational wine tours for small groups around the Winelands of South Africa.
Our products and style are aimed at guests who love to travel, experience and live the good life!
Personal and Professional Service
At HENNIE'S ADVENTURES we believe that dedicated personal service is only possible in a small private company. Hennie, as the owner, started out on his own and built up a reputation for superior personal and professional service. Not wanting to compromise this reputation, he remains directly involved with all aspects of the tour planning and operations ensuring quality service including still guiding many of the tours himself!
All guides employed are mature individuals with many years experience in their respective fields and who comply with all the necessary legal requirements as determined by the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. This includes the following:
- Registered as a South African Tourist Guide with competency in various areas of operation and various fields of expertise;
- Have a Professional Driver Permit (PrDP);
- Have minimum Level 1 First Aid
All vehicles used also comply with all legal aspects as required in South Africa including an operators licence as well as comprehensive public and passenger liability insurances.
Environmental Responsibility
HENNIE'S ADVENTURES as a company and everyone involved with it, personally, has a passion for nature and our environment. We are acutely aware of the role companies like ourselves have in education and awareness with regards to conservation issues, environmental concerns and the socio-economic impact of tourism in local communities. Therefore it stands to logic that we prefer to operate in conjunction with other organizations which have the same basic ideals as we do such as the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, a prime example that conservation and economic activity is not mutually exclusive! We also ensure that any company providing a service to us or our clients are environmentally responsible and upholds the same ethics that we do! See our “Tourism Partners” page for more information on some of these organizations.
